I come from an artistic family and was fortunate to study painting and sculpture from an early age. Later I graduated with a BA (Hons) in Physical Geography from Carleton University, Ottawa. I am now retired and currently reside in Ottawa area with my wife, children, and dogs.
I switch between oil painting, watercolour, gouache, pencil, and ink. I choose the media that would be the closest match to the landscape paintings I imagine. I like to keep my contemporary art loose enough to try a different medium or technique. Sometimes it works, and....sometimes not, but I usually enjoy the process.
I am fascinated by the shapes and environments produced by physical processes of wind, water, and climate. I feel at home around forests, shorelines, mountains, and rocky terrain.
